Is Tesla Missing the Boat by Not Offering a True Full-Size SUV?

Tesla has undeniably revolutionized the auto industry, but are they overlooking a key segment? While the Model X exists, it seems many categorize it more as a crossover or minivan than a genuine full-size SUV. The recent buzz online points to a growing demand for a Tesla vehicle capable of comfortably hauling a family and their luggage, something beyond the Model X's current capabilities. This begs the question: is Tesla leaving money on the table by not competing with the likes of the Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon, and Ford Expedition, or even upcoming EVs like the Rivian R1S and Kia EV9?

Some suggest a Cybertruck-platform-based SUV, a CyberSUV, could be the answer. However, considering Tesla's move away from the Cybertruck’s exoskeleton for future vehicles, this seems unlikely. What design and features would a Tesla full-size SUV need to capture this market? Would it need to be a completely new platform, or could an evolution of the Model X fill this void?

Moreover, what impact would such a vehicle have on Tesla's overall lineup and brand image? Could it cannibalize Model X sales, or would it attract a completely new customer base? Perhaps even more intriguing, what powertrain options would be ideal for a larger, heavier Tesla SUV? Would it stick to the current battery tech, or could we see something new on the horizon?

Let’s discuss. What's your take on a Tesla full-size SUV? Is it a needed addition, or is Tesla better off focusing its efforts elsewhere?
